About EuroFEL
EuroFEL is part of the ESFRI Roadmap since 2006. The preparatory phase of EuroFEL
(IRUVX-PP) prepared the establishment of the EuroFEL Consortium to link FEL &
SPS facilities in Europe closer together. IRUVX-PP has been funded by the European
Commission under FP7 from April 2008 to March 2011.
The main objectives of WP2 are to make sure that the needs of a broad user community are adequately taken into account in the construction and operation of theEuroFEL facility, and to develop tools and procedures for a transparent and optimised access. WP2 will address all issues related to access to the EuroFEL facility. It will evaluate the needs of the potential EuroFEL user community and develop concepts for the consortium, in close interaction with WP1, to take them into account in the design, construction and operation of the individual facilities and their beamlines and instrumentation (WP2.1). It will define the general access policy (WP2.2) and a co-ordinated structure for the review panels involved (WP2.3). Based on those definitions, detailed procedures will be defined (WP2.4) which guarantee efficient and transparent use of all distributed FEL facilities and beamlines involved. Based on these procedures, a web-based access point will be developed (WP2.5, WP2.6) in close correspondence with WP5. The results of WP2.1 to WP2.4 will feed back into WP1.1.
